How to get a debit card?
I'm just way to lazy to search for all these answers because I don't have much time right now. So I am 17 years old and I want to open a debit card. I am starting work soon. I live in New York. Here are my questions.1 What kind of account do I need to open? Can it be like a savings account or is it a checking account?2 What banks will let me do this?3 I want to do it starting when I have about $500. Is that okay? Or do I have to have more?4 Will they charge me to open the account? About how much?5 Will they charge me to take money out at an ATM? About how much?6 Will they charge me when I use it to buy stuff? About how much?7 Will there be any other fees or expenses that I don't know about? What are they?8 Can I just go into the bank, open one and give them cash, and then have it open immediately?9 I don't always have checks, for the holidays I get cash. Can I put cash into this account rather than just checks?Feel free to add anything else you feel is important. I don't know anything about finances. I'm an English student, not a math one lol. If you can answer any of these questions, that would be great, you don't have to answer all of them. If there is something with my age, I will probably just link it with my parents. As you can see I am clearly clueless.

Can a 15 yr old get a debit card with parent signature and somehow not accidentally overdraft? For instance, if the amount in the account is $20 and they try to make a purchse of something that costs $25, is there anyway that the card could have some sort of protection on it so that they couldn't go over the amount they have in the account? Is there anyway to have the store deny the card if they go over?

Debit card deactivated. No bank branches nearby. Any other options to withdraw money?
So here's the kicker I have no debit card, and there are no branches of my bank citibank in my area, where I currently go to school. What happened was, some horrible person stole my debit card number and made an excess of 1000 dollars on the card. It was obviously flagged and deactivated, and now I will not have a debit card for a week or so, until I receive my new card in the mail no, it can't be expedited . I know usually you can go to your bank branch, give them your ID, and withdraw money manually without the card. However, since there are no citibanks where I am going to school, how am I supposed to access my bank account? I suppose I could write checks for everything, but not every location accepts checks. Any help is appreciated. Just want to know what my options are.Dear Pat last person who answered ,You are pretty retarded. Let me explain something to you. You see, Pat, as stated, there is about a one week time frame between receiving my new card and now. Additionally, as I mentioned, I am at school professional school in a city where I don't really know anyone save for a few classmates, who are all very busy. What I was asking was for a way to receive cash from my own bank account that wouldn't do any of the following things a impose upon another person that I do not know wellb depend on another person to complete a task in a timely fashion because often, they don't Your " solution" avoids none of these things.Your answer should be under the topic " LOL I'M TOO STUPID AND SELF ABSORBED TO THINK BEFORE I TROLL" Sincerely,STFU
